Singapore is a fine tourist destination and it has a number of decent hotels, with all the modern facilities. You may find hotels with many attractive packages and in discount rates in the city.
I think the following URL may help you to find out more information on hotels in Singapore:
The key word being budget, try the YMCA. You might also want to check out backpacker guides or traveller’s forums for recommendations. Decent is a misleading word to put in a question like this; when people think decent, they think you’re willing to shell out money for a three-star hotel.
Almost all hotel in Singapore are decent, in term of cleaniness.
As for the budget one, it is about USD35 plus minus.
However, in those cheap hotel, many people use it for ’short-time’ with call gals. So, if you are single gals, be sure that you do not behave too friendly.
But again, safety and security in Singapore in generally very good. Even for single lady, if you do shop till late at night, or go for clubing, you will still be safe to come home alone.
But do avoid red light district, as there are too many undesireable personality around, and you surely do not want to be disturb, or been stop to ask for price.
It may be hard for foreigner to identify who are the Singaporean from South Asia, who are the foreign worker from South Asia. Or to identify those Singaporean Chinese or CHina Chinese. There are big different intheir language and behaviours. Basically, almost all Singaporean speaks English, and are more gracious in behaviour.
The Fullerton, Four Seasons, Meritus Mandarin, Royal Plaza On Scotts, Marriott, Marina Mandarin, Pan Pacific, Ritz Carlton…or Bayview hotel? I Think those are the best though. Have fun in Singapore!
