Rebexla asked:
I’m going to Fiji in June and I heard from a friend that if you leave accommodation until you arrive in Nadi then you can get walk-in bookings in decent bures on the outer islands for much cheaper prices! Is this worth the risk or am I best off booking as soon as possible? All I want is a peaceful beach!

I’m not sure about that but have been to Fiji and loved it. I found the Fijians to be very friendly and welcoming.
We stayed at the Hideaway on the Coral coast and it was lovely and relaxing but right near the sea.
I would pre-book if i were you.

I have also been to Fiji.I think you will find it cheaper to get a deal with flights etc.Air fare can be expensive on its own.The resorts are isolated away from the capitol so transfers can also be a problem.
I would try these sites for last minute deals and also packages.
Also try
and also
as these sites also have deals.
If you were going USA or NZ I would say good chance ,but Fiji seems a little more complex to do it yourself.
I could be wrong somebody may have better info.
Also the Sunday papers have always got full page spreads for cheap deals to Fiji in their travel sections.=&ploc=&loid=6049187&star=&name=&date1=&date2=&cadu1=&crom=1&cadu1=&rdct=1&&zz=1205603391046&
