stay in Manhattan costs $200 to 400,

I’m going to nyc on august so I pay the full price, about 95 bucks per night with shared bathroom and no breakfast on the 25th street.
but I’m from paris and here the worse hotel you can find is about $100! (it’s the most visite city of the earth!)

I book hotels in NYC often, and can tell you prices are hard to predict. The general rule is that prices fall on the weekends, and are higher midweek. October can be a pricey month in the city, not as bad as Nov-Dec, but still kinda high.

My guess is that you can get a somewhat decent hotel for around 200-250$ a night. If you want something nice, its going to be closer to 300-350$, and if you want something luxurious it probably over 500$. You really cant get anything in the city for less then 200$ unless you want to look into shared bathroom hotels, or hostels. Or perhaps a very dingy hotel.

i always advise people on a budget to check out hotels near Newark Airport. You can hop on the Nj transit trains that leave from the airport and be in midtown manhattan in about 15 mins. You can get comfortable nice hotels out there for less then 100/nt. So it may be worth it to you. Also check out the Hyatt in Jersey City. Its right near the path train which gets to downtown NYC in about 5-10 mins. i woudlnt bother with JFK/LGA, not only are the hotels kinda lousy, but its harder to commute into Manhattan from there.

It depends on where you stay and what level of hotel you would like. I stayed in the middle of Time Square with a friend who came to visit me, and we spent $395 on one night at the Marriot. Yikes…. so you might want to try some of the hotel sights and look around:
