First of all Cheap and Chicago don’t belong in the same sentence. That being said, the Cass Hotel, 640 N Wabash is an o.k. place to stay. It’s an older hotel, but clean and reasonable. They advertise “Downtown without the Downtown Price.” The reservation number is: 1-800-227-7850. A single should be in the range of $89 per night. It is within walking distance of most clubs. The art institute is a medium walk, and a long walk is the Natural History museum. The Planetarium and Aquarium are close to the History meuseum. The meuseum of Science and Industry is a cab ride. Check out: for info on the hotel and close by venues. The “Magnificent Mile” N. Michigan Ave is a good place to shop, and watch people. Try a boat ride on the lake. They board from the river at Michigan Ave. The skyline is fantastic.
